My theory is that commies push insane ideas onto people to identify the strong, and independent-minded, who will then be killed or totally fucked. It's the opposite of culling. You remove, and destroy the strong ones. This helps the commies grow, and keep power. Ah, but the side effect is that society starts collapsing, and you get extreme poverty. Smart, independent-minded people may be a thorn in your side, but they also keep your country in good health.
