I sat down on a cold, metal bench.
The train station was crowded, but I felt alone.
My coffee kept getting colder. And I still didn't know where I was going.
How're ya doing Stranger?
The man who sat down next to him was dressed in neat business attire, and held a cup of hot coffee, steaming, and a newspaper. He kept speaking.
Trains are running after expected this morning! I suppose that's to be expected. It is Autumn, after all. They tell me that the rails run late, the leaves fall, the rain falls, and wheels run over the leaves, pressing out their oils. Makes the tracks more slippery. Means they can't go as fast, for everyone's safety.
I can't fathom going anywhere purposeful right now.
Where are ya headed? Looking at a man such as yourself, you must be headed somewhere mighty important!
I couldn't respond, I knew I had no place to go, no direction to head.
Seems to me Mister, you've got a real important place to be, you just don't know it yet. And here you are, wasting your time, waiting at a train station. How about this? Take my ticket. You can't stay here. For your own sake, you need to get out.
I couldn't take the ticket.
I couldn't take the help that I needed from this kind Angel of a Stranger.
I couldn't take any of it anymore.
So right before the train came, I jumped onto the tracks.
Dude, i feel like the mister.. I need to take the ticket. Fuck.
Now i know what it takes to recieve the rose.
