Everyday. You'll be amazed how often it comes in handy. I'd also recommend a small high output flashlight.

Since we're already at it: don't forget a gun, obviously; a lighter, replete with extra flint, fuel, and wick; a fire-starter'; a pen or pencil; a notebook (ideally waterproof); 100' minimum of 550 cord; a compass; a map; a few different kinds of sealed batteries; a whistle; a hatchet; a sleeping bag; a hammock; a tent; and a few grams of gold.

Anything less for an EveryDay Carry is no EDC at all.

You joke, but all of the vehicles in my family have everything on this list and more; and everything gets used with varying degrees of frequency.

I carry one and use it constantly. I also carry a 9mm, but haven’t had to use it once.

It's great for putting carry holes in boxes that you will open up with your k-bar later!

I've run with CRKT M-16s since I was a teenager. Even had to scare off drunken mexicans with it. They're such cowards.

A Victorinox pen knife in my pocket and a 4" folder or a 5" hunting knife on my belt every day, depending on circumstances.

I always carry a knife. I chose a knife that is assisted-opening, which I can flick open with one hand reliably. The blade is 3 1/2 inches, which is about as large as you can make a folding knife and still expect it to fit into your pocket. It's a lockblade of course -- never carry a folding knife that doesn't lock open. I prefer a liner lock because of the clean look and positive action. I adjust the pivot of the blade regularly and oil it. It's an excellent thing to have in your pocket if you should happen to run into some "wild animals" on a dark night.
