Parents who can't think, need to first be taught HOW to think and stop worrying about WHAT to think. ( Not saying this is you, I'm saying for this huge influx of people who have decided to teach their own kids...which I feel is their DUTY and is an obvious correct choice...I'm not sure that they're in a position to do more than "pass out worksheets" or "make sure the child is logged on" )

(FWIW, in reading your reply, it appears that you have the right approach and understand that you're now on the 'front lines" and are able to follow the public school guides...while at the same time steering the messaging and questioning back into real world problems, situations, and then possible solutions. I still can't help but fear for the parents who wish to go FURTHER left while homeschooling or those who simply give their kids to the public system but are deluded into just shoving their kid(s) in front of a screen and thinking that its somehow different than hearing/reading the same trash (opposed to being in a classroom environment hearing/reading the same shit)

Parents who are unwilling to give every single test, quiz in either an auditory or hand written version of their own values and beliefs are doing a disservice to themselves as well as their kids. They can take their child's answers and transfer them online at a later time/date. (in correspondence with the best answers available or given to them online).

That's how you fucking parent. You teach your kids HOW to think, why its important to be able to critically think , and how todays environment is making it hard for their friends/peers to do so. You teach them the 5 "w's" (who, what, when, where, and why) and then you implement this into your lives. Constantly asking them questions that require them to do more than parrot an answer. If more people did this we'd be a nation of men and women and not obedient slaves.
