Just some musings..
The “future” is “here” I guess. So I bought a couple things I needed, a belt and a new knife. Belt is some amazon bullshit, “tactical” whatever, design is ok, keeps my pants on. Seems to have some sorta sci-fi aesthetic, dunno don’t care.
But then the knife, Leatherman Free K2, is the same (few more bucks, and more important). It looks cool I guess, if you want to make products that look like shit from Halo. Good blade, decent tools (shitty stainless...). But the functionality is just not good. No means to immediately deploy the blade. Kept a Crater for years, when clean and oiled, blade snaps out with a flick of a finger on the designed device. While this is a bigger and better knife, I’ve had to actually practice drawing it. If your knife cannot be “unfolded” as you draw it from your pocket, the fuck good is it?
A product I will not be purchasing, some fuckin mirror-display for fitness. Saw a commercial on the cable at the bar I was working last night. Fucking dystopic! I get the idea of confirming form while lifting, but this was such a heavy-handed advert to “improve” your life with a fuckin 1984 video screen and data mining. What the fuck. I don’t want any part of anything new, it’s all shit. Posted from my iPhone
