>Doctors and nurses say the severity of illness ranges widely and includes abdominal pain, respiratory problems, blood clots, heart conditions and suicide attempts, among others.

Bullshit. I work in Lansing, and many other bigger cities in Michigan. The hospitals are no more or less full than any other time. And, it is flu season after all.

You’re absolutely right. Consider the source though. NPR.

>Doctors and nurses say the severity of illness ranges widely and includes abdominal pain, respiratory problems, blood clots, heart conditions and suicide attempts, among others.

I was really hoping people would actually read the article and notice this paragraph.

Did read it. But those are all normal things to see in a hospital. When there is an "actual" flood of people then that sentence could be more concerning. Right now the flood of people is severely overstated as I said.

This is normalization of what is to come. This is how it works. Cry wolf till people don't care anymore, then when it actually happens... Nobody seems to notice and nobody seems to care. Repetition is key...

Use better, more reliable sources if you want people to read the articles. A lot of people including myself skip a lot of articles based on the source alone.
