And, as usual, the patent holders are not the workers/inventors. The patent holders are the company they work for. So they wouldn't be the patent holders, anyway.

Correct. Even if your name is on the patent, it is still owned by the company you work for. Part of your work agreement. If you switch jobs, you can claim your name is on a patent, but the contents stay with the old company

Fake and gay. A patent is an asset like any other. It passes on to the estate when a person dies. It's not a tontine where the last survivor gets control.
Besides anyone who owns a valuable parent would have assigned it to a patent holding company anyway.
