I can't stay focused on learning to play the guitar. Really pissing me off. You don't realize it until you realize you can't stay focused on one thing for more than a few minutes- if that- And no I'm too poor to afford real teaching lessons.

Schedule the work. The internet didn't ruin your attention span, YOU did by the habits you took on. If you want to do something, schedule it as if it were work. Do only that item for a set amount of time. You have a cellphone with a timer. Use the timer. Do ten minutes per day for a week, then schedule it for 20 minutes per day for a week or two, then 30 minutes for a few week. You get the point. Treat the whole thing as if it were your part-time job.

You're ultimately, the boss of you! Don't brush that off by blaming "the internet", anything or, anyone else.

Yes. Same goes for writing. Treat it as a job, with defined start/end times.
