Your buddy Sean was in the right. The other guy entered your space, challenging you much like a predator would prey, he was told to back down, and got what he was looking for. This shit happens a lot in gas stations especially at night.
My husband is a bit like this but it wouldn't have been an instant clocking. It probably would've been a warning, and then an intense stare that would require the guy to decide whether or not he was going to listen or take it to the next level.
But, I've never seen anyone not back away from/intentionally impede my husband. He doesn't look like the kind of guy with a lot of patience, and he's big enough to do something about it. Best protector, husband and father all in one.
