I remember when I was a kid in the mid '60's, and they used to sell Wrigley's gum at 5¢ for a pack of 5 sticks, and then they bumped the price to 10¢ for 7 sticks and they said "You're getting more for your money". Also, the local news reported that pieces of Bazooka Joe bubble gum were smaller for the same penny. I didn't worry much about gas prices back then.
