I believe the jackasses call it 'shrinkflation' and is characterized by manufacturers opting to lower the amount of product received while keeping the price the same versus raising the price but getting the default amount.

This has been going on for a while, so this is nothing new. Annoyingly, the food industry has done this blatantly by hiding behind the "portion control" argument to deflect from ripping people off.
