I built a hoop-house that used PVC and 2x4's for a little extra structure and covered it with plastic. This was in a very-very high wind area and I was very concerned about it holding up. 7mil plastic sheet.
I only had it up for the season and to extend the season an extra few months. It held up very well and since the PVC was flexible it did not have problems with the wind even though it blew around like crazy.
At the highest point I think it was just over 8ft and was about 30ft long. It was around 18 ft wide. We had a great harvest that year for the footprint but moved away before the next season and took it down.
Im looking forward to building a new one when I have more land again and also building a large underground greenhouse that would be like a huge version of a cold frame.
Nice, yeah i like that design.
