I'm going to build a greenhouse either in the very near term or next spring. I'm thinking about building a 100ft long hoop house with plastic wrapping, but it may need to stand up to high winds. So, I may have to go with glass. In any case, what kind of greenhouse would you build if you ready to build one now?

That's a big greenhouse?

Plant some conifers upwind, plastic ones are pretty vulnerable to getting ripped.

Glass is so much nicer, last one I did I built a low wall for it to sit on, it gets it higher which sometimes helps with the sun, and you are not wasting so much glass by having the staging fill the bottom half. And it helps retain a bit of heat by warming the bricks. I've seen people add in black water barrels to the same effect

If you tile the floor you can jetwash it clean too, it helps keep the bugs down

it'll probably be about 100 feet long and 10 feet wide or so

nice, what are you planning on growing?

I guess that'll be too big for glass, some automated watering might be viable though

not 100% decided yet. Lots of cabbage, broccoli, and radishes and lettuce, probably green beans and various medicinal herbs. Oh yes, I've been dying to program a raspberry pi for this project. I want to experiment with aeroponics too.
