Long story short, I just witnessed it for the first time, & it's really fucking with my head. I'm no faggot, but God damn, it's not a good feeling watching this poor thing shake, drool, & have tears coming out of her eyes, & there's nothing you can do about it.

I'm going to get her some CBD, that should help, some.

Take her to the vet. If she has an underlying condition causing it they can hopefully take care of it. If it is a seizure disorder they can give her medication to control it. My parents had a dog who had seizures and the vet prescribed phenobarbital which worked and is inexpensive.

Kidney infection can cause seizures in dogs. Happened to one of mine, twice, 2 years apart. Meds fixed him up fine.

And you're right, it's just about as helpless as a human can feel.

Man, I feel for you. This happened to a dog I used to have shortly after she was hit by a car. The first time it happened, I was like you, I had no idea what to do about it, and I also felt completely powerless. Eventually, since the seizures were so severe the vet put her on phenobarbitol, which seemed to greatly reduce their frequency. CBD wasn't available back then, but if it was I certainly would have tried it.

Our male has had seizures his whole life. The vet did tests and could find nothing wrong; it's just something that happens sometimes. Fortunately there are no bad side effects. But it is disturbing to witness there's no question.

Take it as a reminder that as pet owners we are there for the good times and the bad. Our pets are a part of our lives but we are everything to our pets. Their undying loyalty, love, and devotion deserves nothing les than our steadfast commitment to be with them through everything.

She's probably fine but have a vet run the usual lab tests. Also I'd talk to a vet before giving a dog CBD. A quick google says that pot is not a good idea for dogs but CBD is 'probably' okay. I'd still check with my vet though.

Sorry buddy, that sucks. I know the feeling, I’ve had dogs that have had seizures. One of them, a female, had very minor seizures where her body would tense up and she would salivate. She would have them about six months apart. We decided not to medicate her. The other, a male, would have these crazy grand mal seizures where he would shit and piss all over the bed and completely spaz out. We ended up getting him on medication. A dog can overheat when they have a seizure and it can be fatal. Your vet will give you a suppository if you ask, I think it is a muscle relaxer, in case your dog has a prolonged seizure and begins to overheat.

If you let her eat a lot of grains etc (things a dog wouldn't eat in the wild, check the ingredients on her food), please cut those out of her diet.

You need to go to the vet. Probably need a CT scan. Source - Have pet that was having minor seizures and treated with CBD. It seemed like they were doing a lot better.

Then It graduated to cluster seizures. **If an episode lasts more than 5 minutes, go to the Pet ER immediately! **

Currently the little one's episodes are under control with a lot of work and some very kind doc's to help us. Only after we had to overnight them at the ER 3 times in 2 months before they could get the dose right. If we just caught it sooner, they would not have had to deal with so much.

The issue is a physical brain problem.. CBD can help them calm down but wont keep the episodes under control alone.

Also pray over some stones and light some smudge. That should help, some.

No! Take her to your vet, let them know what happened.
