Again, history has shown us that if you take out the foragers, their buddies come back and kill everyone for miles around.

They also like to burn the buildings and crops, shoot all the animals, the Roman's even salted the earth.

This is an absolute no no. They always retaliate. Reprisals against the civilian population is the norm.

Leave either an empty house, or a minimal supply cache. They will move on, and the whole organization will leave the area once they think they have picked it clean. They are always hungry, they have to keep moving.

Save your claymores for a rainy day.

This is just a normal part of farming, like locusts, and bad weather. Armies are just another force of nature.
