Yes, you’re right. I work out in the field, but it is a big, terrible company and NY is an undeveloped territory for them.
Biggest problem with the small ones is getting bought out. I had two great jobs I never would have left and both disappeared in one big unexpected announcement.
That happened to me in December, 1999. I was at a place I liked a lot and it got bought. I was there for 50 weeks and they scumbagged me on a severance package because I was like 10 days short of a year.
Yeah I only got severance once. That's another thing that is phasing out it seems. The other disappeared the supervisor position I was getting and put me on a line literally folding boxes. I didn't wait to get laid off cause my pay was too high for a box folder and jumped ship to the next job.
