The tomato being a fruit but not a fruit argument comes from a disagreement between the botanical and culinary definitions of fruits. The Culinary definition of fruit is fairly arbitrary, but understandable as typically being sweet. Why tomatoes aren't culinary fruits, I don't know. Like I said, it's arbitrary.
Botanically, a fruit is nothing more than the seed bearing product of a fertilized flower. All fruits are vegetables. Other vegetables represent the other parts of the plant...lettuce is leaves, carrots are roots, celery are stems, broccoli is flowers.
So, with that said, Fuck You!
