Independent Fact Checkers (facebook.com) say this video is deboonked.
Lead Stories (z.zz.fo), according to this lawsuit (archive.is), is a signatory of IFCN, which is a unit of the Poynter Institute. The co-founder of Lead Stories is Alan Duke, who was a former editor of the CNN for 26 years.
Science Feedback (archive.is), funded by ... wait for it... Facebook. It's second biggest doner, TikTok. Can someone remind me who owns all businesses like TikTok in a communist country like China, the government or individuals?
Politifact - "The Poynter Institute (archive.is) for Media Studies is a non-profit journalism school and research organization in St. Petersburg, Florida. The school is the owner of the Tampa Bay Times newspaper and the International Fact-Checking Network [2][3] and operates PolitiFact."
So Lead Stories and Politifact are basically the same company, the Poynter Institute, whose biggest funder is Google (archive.is). Science Feedback is funded by Facebook and the Chinese government. I guess I don't understand the definition of "independent".
- AFP United States (archive.is) is owned by the French Government. Outside of them being a dying medium whose only chance of survival is most likely selling fear porn, I can't find anything specific about them. I'm sure someone on here might have more time to dig in though.
