I've found that I don't really enjoy eating out as much as I used to. It doesn't taste good anymore and usually gives me the shits.
I can make a couple of burgers and some fries and load them up just how I want them without paying $14.
Home made chilli that you have slow cooked for 4 hours cannot be found in restaurants.
A basic no knead dutch oven home baked bread is fast, cheap, unbelievably good and stays moist for days and days on the counter because it is so crusty.
It's kind of dangerous learning to cook because it's hard to not pig out when you discover how terrible restaurant food really is.
Yep. A loaf of homemade bread, even plain ol white, is 10000x better than anything you can buy.
The smell, when you take the bread out of the oven, is just amazing.
Most places cook everything so bland to accommodate more people. Eating out sucks. Over priced bland food.
This is a phenomena I have NEVER understood. I have NEVER enjoyed "going out to eat". First off I'm a VERY un fussy eater. I'm just as satisfied with a mayonnaise sandwich as I am with a plate of home made Ravioli and sauce. Then there's the fucking WAITING. When I'M Hungry I'm HUNGRY. I don't want to wait in a line with a bunch of self propelled stomachs that don't need to be there anyway or slack jawed gabbers for whom this is their BIG night out or crying kids handled by pussy parents. I don't want to "have a drink at the bar" while I wait endlessly to be seated, greeted, have my order taken, MADE out of my sight by God KNOWS what Turd whurl ahole then served up nice and shitty anyway AND overpay for the experience. Yet people seem to LIVE for this activity. SMH
