This was still part of 'lunch' in the 90's too. It was not good...

None of it was good, but you still got excited about pizza day.

Not in my case I guess? Though, I often had a "home lunch" since it was still cheaper than the junk they were feeding to kids back then and my family didnt have much money to spend on it.

Maybe. I recall it only from elementary school where it was novel to get pizza. We never ate out, and ordering a pizza was a special occasion. It was the cool thing, and to have it at school - so cool.

I regret having only one upvoat to give that. Hilarious. Thanks for sharing.

That pizza is legendary. Who doesn’t like that crap? Next best, bean burritos.

[–] 5 pts

We didn’t have bean burritos. My next best would be the chicken sandwiches. But these pizzas are the titz

You’re the tits! With great nipples too!

Great Nipples!

We had some weird ass mystery patty that was called a bacon burger. To this day I have no idea wheat it was, but it was great.

My adult version of school lunch is the lunch special from the market next door to work. About the same quality, more fixins tho. They make a “ham loaf” sandwich that’s (bad) great!

I remember that pizza. I actually didn't like it.

The peanut butter bars were the only thing I can remember going nuts for.

I remember the giant cookies you could get for a quarter, then next year it went up to 35 cents and I was pissed.

When I was in grade skrewl, the whole fucking lunch was 35 cents. A dime got you a chocolate milk.

I remember those exact prices. Mostly because there were times I couldn't meet them.

In grade school in the early 80s we got PacMan pizza. It was a small round personal pizza with a slice cut out and 1 pepperoni slice for an eye. They always served it with pineapple chunks and a chocolate chip cookie, and nearly everyone just crunched that up and put it all on the pizza.

Rich kid school

Pizza is cultural appropriation and rayciss!

They don't serve fried chicken and water melon on pizza so how can it be raycis?

[–] 0 pt

You don’t have to have pork on it……

Been there, done that. Class of 87.

Ellio's Cheese Pizza is the closest ever.

We had Pizza Hut days...

...after walking 20 shady neighborhoods for a month and finally selling $2k in paperback novels to senile old folks, with the school pocketing the cash. If you survived, you got that sweet slice of pizza hut hot garbage all to yourself. Paradise.

Best days was when they ran out of fish sticks and had to break out the fish sandwiches.

The pizza in the college dorm vending machines was only slightly better. I tried the brand a couple of years ago and it was exactly the same and I wondered how I ever could have enjoyed it. It was disgusting. Back then a pint of Ben & Jerry's was a good dinner. Tastes change

We had a nasty breakfast one with white gravy and sausage that we loved too
