It is indeed a process designed to mitigate as much bias as possible. Herego, when someone says they will scientifically evaluate something they are making it their goal to identify as much biases as possible. Even one iota of bias can and will render a study or conclusion suspect and must be controlled for or mitigated with future iterations of said study.
This is at least what I was told before school was compromised. now it has been relegated to one slide in a power point that is given no more than a few minutes throughout the entire semester. This has been the case with ever science class I have taken thus far. This was not the case decades ago when I was first in school.
A shame the sheep treat it as an institution rather than a process.
