Cost $1 each and don't shatter, work just as well in cold weather which is something incandescent lacked because, you know, physics. Remember when they were pushing CFLB even though they are filled with heavy metals which are toxic and shouldn't be put into the garbage stream because of groundwater pollution? LEDs were available at the same time. And the light was a sickly dull white which strained the eyes, which can effect other aspects of the body because of eye strain causing mental distress which can lead to lethargy, headaches, and other maladies, and lack of UV light which the human skin needs to absorb in order to metabolize certain essential nutrients, such as vitamin D.
I delight in hurling CFL bulbs out the window, it was a scam to make a small group of (((people))) rich fast
BUT THEY'RE GREEN! THEY'RE ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY! Except all the toxic heavy metals which pollute the ground water. Also, their glass is more fragile than that of incandescent light bulbs. And they stop working even the seal at the base which keeps the gases in a vacuum is damaged, so they stop working even if the glass isn't shattered, unlike incandescent light bulbs.
LEDs can be completely recycled, or if you had the most basic shop class you can replace the LEDs yourself by disassembling them and soldering in a new LED.
