I have a theory that they're doing all those crazy things to shuffle people to the east coast. They buy up all the property, eventually no one lives on the west coast. Either the Chinese/ Russians move in, or agenda 21/30 where everyone lives in the cities is easier to accomplish.
Ideally you set up a timeframe in which secession happen and people have the time to move to their preferred country before citizenship is handed out.
