You want a system that marries productive economic behavior to compensation. Any time you take by threat of imprisionment money from a productive person and give it to a non productive one, you are undermining money as an information system of economic behavior.

If you take money away from people who earned it and give it away to people who didn’t earn it, you destroy economic information. Money is data. In a free market where everyone plays by the same rules, it is very reliable data. As soon as the government starts seizing it, it becomes less reliable.
