Absolutely correct. It’s simply that I see nothing but pointing out the problems here (to be fair, less and less places allow people to even point these problem out) and almost nobody talking about solutions. Real, actionable solutions. All I see is people saying “get used to being a slave”, and I find that abhorrent.
I blame the internet. The internet is the ultimate escape from our own reality and makes it feel like we're accomplishing something online when we're not. Going online and complaining about something is easy, legal, and you're unlikely going to face any consequences for it. Of course, it helps to use a VPN and not use your real name. As someone who went on Voat since /r/fatpeoplehate was banned, I noticed a trend emerge that has not gone away even when voaters migrated here: article after article of shit we already know, the same stale rotting memes being posted over and over again since at least 2015, and a call to action without much weight behind it. I'm part of this problem too. What the fuck am I supposed to do? I hardly understand how our government even functions, much less how it's supposed to function. However, the internet is also what woke a lot of people up as it's a direct bypass of mainstream garbage. Yes, even though big tech is compromised, there are still sites like this if you know where to look.
I think the biggest first step is a mass awakening. Everywhere I go online, I try to drop a few red pills. Once enough people know the truth, then it will be much easier to start to take action. For the past couple months I've been making fake Facebook profiles posting redpilling comments on local covid articles. Of course my account is always disabled within hours, but what has been read can't be unread. I've noticed a lot more people following my lead and speaking out as well.
Are you sure a wall of unreadable micro-text is a solution? I remain unconvinced.
