Can someone argue one of his points that got me? If the earth is spinning at 1000 mph at the equator, why isn't it dark,light, dark, light, etc? The sun spinning at the same pace wouldn't make a difference.

I guess I do, you're saying it should be quick fast? Except you're missing the scale, the circumference of the earth is roughly 24,000 miles. Does that help? 24000mi/1000mph = 24 hours

Venus is different. It rotates clockwise meaning that the sun rises in the west and sets in the east.

The moon always shows the same side because it's tidally locked.

Why hasn't any planet become tidally locked to the sun even though they have had more time to do so?

Mercury is almost there. If it wasn't for it's eccentric orbit it would be tidally locked. (A "day" on Mercury is = to 176 days on earth, but a "year" is = to 88 days. One Mercury day is twice as long as one Mercury year.)

Also, we don't know which way Uranus is rotating because its axis is tilted 90 degrees with one pole pointing towards the sun on its "winter solstace" and the other on its "summer solstace". We just don't know which pole is north and which is south. ....And its day is just over 17 hours long, so its spinning way faster than us.
