How embarrassing is it when a wrestler kicks the shit out of one of you martial arts fags?
How do you feel about Chen style practical method? I started with TKD and then boxing, then JKD, but now I only do Chen style practical method. Chen style makes all your other techniques more powerful and efficient. Not many people want to spend months learning positive and negative circles.
Is you knee itchy?
So am I but ya don't hear me bragging about it.
I'm not bragging. Christ almighty. I didn't say I was the best in the world. Trained martial artist is not a brag. Lot of you guys around here come off as totally insecure about yourselves. You're always sizing people up, and comparing. I'm not trying to compete with anyone here. Why don't you add something to the discussion? What did you study, or what do you study?
How do I turn super saiyan and teleport behind my opponent? Can you teach me how to focus my ki and shoot it out as balls of fire?
Would you fight Jackie Chan? Serious question.
What discipline do you recommend studying when you want to protect yourself from niggers?
Gunkata
A shitpost and a correct answer wrapped into one
Yes, we all know guns are good, but you can't always use guns.
Hey look a dojo fag who takes himself too seriously and doesn't understand humor. Go figure.
If you are a total beginner, I recommend Krav Maga. But the problem with Krav Maga is its weak in grappling. So, you'll have to study a grappling art, too. I recommend Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. These arts are good for beginners. Krav Maga teaches you a lot striking -- dirty techniques, aggression, and how to defend against weapons, and multiple attackers. BJJ teaches you to fight on the ground, and how to get out of holds, and choke people. If you go to a Brazilian Jiu Jitsu school that teaches street defense, then they'll teach you some stuff like defending against a knife, and gun. Although in most cases, you're screwed with weapons. You have to get to a very high level to fight a knife, or gun.
But I have to warn you. Some Krav Maga schools are shitty. If you find a Krav Maga school, ask them if they spar, which is like simulated fighting. If they don't, then you're not gonna learn much. You need sparring to get better.
I appreciate the info. I understand the fact that if you get into a knife fight (where both sides have one) you will get stabbed. It's just a matter of being trained enough to put the opponent down while your losses are survivable at least.
From what you are saying, it's a shame there isn't a discipline that combines Krav Maga and the ground fighting; Basically just a street fighting school. Teach dirty, teach survival. I notice in MMA that wrestlers win over people trained in kickboxing and the ilk due to once they grapple and takedown, there isn't much the kickboxer can do. I think it would be hard to have a true street fighting class because you don't want to practice kicks to the knees and whatnot while sparring.
Don't let the shitposters get to you. It's half the fun. Ignore it or shitpost back.
What do you think of Judo?
I'll be back in a few to answer your questions.
what martial art at what level. What do you think of akido?
Aikido is cool, and there are some good elements to it, but usually it's not good for self-defense. It's better to study something like Judo, Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Sambo, or Catch Wrestling if you can find it. I usually recommend BJJ to people because the schools are easy to find, and you don't have to be strong to do it, and you learn a lot even at the white belt, and blue belt level. If you study BJJ try to get at least two stripes.
If grappling is the only tool in your toolbox, you're going to have a bad time.
Making someone submit is great, as long as your opponent doesn't have homies with them that are going to beat the shit out of you while you pretzel one guy.
I have some experience with Aikido. It is great against the nigger. It focuses more on throws and destructive joint techniques than strikes which is important because the negro's thick skull and primitive build give plenty of protection from strikes. Aikido puts a lot of emphasis on strategy against multiple attackers and, as we all know, the nigger typically attacks only in packs.
The problem with Aikido is finding a decent instructor. There are lot of pansy hippie types that get involved in it because of the some of the pacifistic aspects of it, which is really a misinterpretation if you ask me. Plus Aikido is very sophisticated and in depth so not only do you really need an instructor that knows their stuff you have to put in a lot of time and practice to become proficient and effective with it.
It would be like learning the play the guitar. It would take several years to get good enough that other people would want to listen to you and several more years so you could play extemporaneously in a band without sheet music.
When you can jam like that with Aikido you can seriously fuck people up. Or not.
The time factor is the main reason you don't see Aikido in MMA. The fighters aren't going to put in 5 years to learn techniques they aren't going use or how to deal with knives or multiple attackers at once. Its irrelevant to their sport. They aren't learning self-defense. They are training to win their pre-arranged and controlled matches.
You had me until you called MMA fixed
MMA is not "fixed". They are pre-arranged matches, meaning a set time and set opponents, with rules, a ring, and a ref. That is a completely different situation than an anything goes self-defense scenario.
A. He may have been using the word in an odd manner.
B. Yes, Timmy, even MMA can be "fixed". For reference, see some of the one handed MMA fighters fights and tell me his two handed opponents didn't feel bad and intentionally not take advantage of his disability the same way they would kick a non-amputee in the leg over and over and over again if they knew his knee was hurt.
I'm not saying ALL MMA is fixed, but it's entertainment first - sports second or third after profits.
All pro sports, especially when betting is involved, eventually become fixed.
