In 1957 a serial killer called Ed Geins was caught with the body of his latest victim in his house. The remains of his other victims were discovered, which has been fashioned into household items like furniture, utensils and (guess what) lampshades.

If anyone's working on a historiography of holocaust claims, it might be interesting to see if any of the lampshade stories predate 1957.

If not, then it's pretty clear where they got it from.
