So, apparently a rug like that, a large bear, head included, can go for up to $30,000 these days... but the average hide sold is a smaller 8 foot hide with no head, anywhere from $1500 to $5000.
It seems the Canadian government pays the Inuit (Eskimos) a bounty on bear hides and regulates their commercial sale if the hunter does not sell them privately. Apparently they had trouble selling the inventory this year. Prices are down.
