What's occurring right now is a truly unsettling form of slavery. A mind slavery in which the victim is eventually rendered incapable of critiquing their own condition. It would be like waking up in the middle of a maze that intersects and twists a thousand different ways. Their neural pathways are being crossed and bent in ways that unless they accept outside help (from the right type of individual, no less, which are increasingly rare in this world), or engage in significant isolation/self-examination/study for a number of years, their chances of escaping this maze is pretty much null. A form of slavery in which you are trapped inside of your own mind without the tools to dig your way out. And for all we know we are also in our own perceptual prisons in some form, just not as shackled under lock and key as them, so we fool ourselves into calling it freedom, when for all we know it's just a different tier.
