'Opinion' on music comes from when and where you grew up. Iron Butterfly actually sucked BUT 'In a Godda da Vida' Is one of the top rock songs of all time. Song after song the top Rock music is by Lynard Skynard.
You're right, for the most part. You could hear the greatest song ever, but if you're in a bad place at the time, you'll hate it.
I want to say there is music that is objectively bad, but there will always be someone who likes it. Can we say it sucks, & they're wrong, or do we just have a different opinion?
I can say it sucks if it 'sucks' from having played music in a rock band and i have the 'ear' for pitch and key. My 'opinion' on music is different. I bleed Rock from the 60s/70s and my opinion is There is little if any 'Music' made in the last 30 years. PS. Rap Sucks and is Not music.
It exists, if you can find it, (in reference to your comment about modern music, not rap) but yeah I pretty much agree with you there.
