Just like the memory of not everyone having a cellphone is fading, so too is our recollection of an integrated functional society. We have been separated from people for so long that we don't really know anything about each other. The only thing we know is the hyper-reality that is portrayed in social media. With one look at a persons attire you can be certain of very specific views and or personality traits. I'm sure the algorithms do this too. Imagine if you will, a learning neural net to accurately approximate the net worth of a person based on their looks and vehicle. Cross reference that with the data the DMV sells and you've got a profitable data-stream to sell to someone else. "Where, when, how do 'target demographic' spend..." So on and so forth. How do you get that data? Buy it, or mine it. All these gullible people that use all this free stuff but do not understand how it works. Snowden considered that to be one of the main underpinnings of totalitarianism. Anyhow, we are being plundered for profit at the cost of society itself. Humanity is intellectually cannibalizing itself. Without restoration of normal physical relationships among people, government will expand.
