This is not true. Particularly in northern and western europe marriage age has been shown to be very late for many centuries—the average marriage age for english women in the 1600s was around 23 and around 25 for men. Similar marriage age ranges for whites in 1800s america. They only people that married their daughters off young were the aristocracy and maybe some areas in southern europe. I researched this a few months ago because someone around here was making assertions about later marriage age being something pushed on us by jews in the 20th century. Not true.

I cant find the source now but there was a study of marriage age in 19 cent america that I saw and southern marriage ages were only slightly lower than northern ones. Like a year. For women it was like 22. Well past teens . I remember because l was arguing with some guy, maybe it was basedWolf? who was saying the average age was 14 or something and I called bullshit.
