This is not true. Particularly in northern and western europe marriage age has been shown to be very late for many centuries—the average marriage age for english women in the 1600s was around 23 and around 25 for men. Similar marriage age ranges for whites in 1800s america. They only people that married their daughters off young were the aristocracy and maybe some areas in southern europe. I researched this a few months ago because someone around here was making assertions about later marriage age being something pushed on us by jews in the 20th century. Not true.
