Shoot them first.
When the landfill won't take you trash what do they think happens to it?
Do they assume it ceases to exist?
Sounds like a business opportunity.
Since the cost of processing them is more than the value of the scrap metal, this is a case where a tax actually makes sense. A few cents added to each canister to pay for the cost of processing is fair and not difficult to implement. The bonus is that it doesn't force people who aren't using them to pay the costs. The costs are paid directly by those using them.
Are you insane? A tax is never a good thing. It will just lead to more taxes and eventually they will be taxing us for those bread ties.
There's no such thing as a free lunch. Somebody, somewhere is paying to collect and dispose of these canisters right now. It's fucked because it's taxpayers who aren't even using them being forced to assume the costs. You tell me a better way to have the costs of collection and disposal included in the price of the product, where it should be. The market can't function correctly if the costs of a product aren't included in the price. Socializing some of the costs by forcing taxpayers at large to subsidize people using the product is NOT the way.
how much does it cost you ? You realize that the US Government has spent over 2 trillion on Afghanistan and Iraq and just recently has squandered around 5 trillion on so called covid relief?
Why don't they just put them in black garbage bags?
