Listen to robot hive/exodus and from beale Street to oblivion.

One is the last of their "hard era" albums and the other is the first of their "blues era" albums. Both are excellent

These both sound relevant to my interests. (pic8.co)

HELLLLL YEAHHH BROTHHEERRRRRR

Okay. Holy shit.

These guys undeniably do rock. This is kind of the kind of thing I thought had died and went away for awhile there, before realising it was just mainstream programming eschewing REAL rocking quality stuff for the pop pap or otherwise "harmless" product they DO shill for..

I WOULD HAVE booked these guys for a show, if I got this as a demo. Obviously. Only a huge faggot wouldn't. Man, I maybe should get back into that business again. It chuffs me splendidly how my old place is tertiarily legendary; having only been a little dive WAAY outside of Los Angeles... but we did a thing that needed doing, AND it paid the bills, for a time!

I'd hate having to book communist bands just because they "rock" now, though. I was pretty apolitical back in the day. I wonder where I went wrong, because thinking back to my disdain for it all seems like the correct position now... but now is clown world and then was... only nascent clown world, and our 60s/70s/ and 80s outlook precluded noticing how shit everything was getting, assuming that everything was just going to get better over time due to REASONS...

Jeez. Sorry. I digress. This rocks.

For some reason, it makes me somehow more warm and happy to have one in the chamber in the pistol at my hip now. Music that does that is special. American. Perhaps SACRED.

And as far as being apolitical I get you. Shit didn't really get bad till about a decade ago. Everything was moving up until they started pushing hard for identity politics because they were losing control of the masses. What you were doing was helping then lose that control.

Yeah. I've thought that as well. I was a tool of debauchery. Of degeneracy. And it's partly true. It would be super hard to get back into now, partly for that reason. But on the other hand, there are TONS of struggling artists trying to get by just being true and honest. Just like then, really. But I was not picky - they could have been total antifa, and if they pulled a decent paying crowd, they'd get half the door just the same as anyone else. And free beers and dinner if they wanted it.

Damn, our cook made some great steaks at that place. Weird tricks I should actually try to reproduce, now that I think of it. He'd put a frozen steak on the grill, with an ice cube on it, and put a lid over it. I thought that was weird... but I was a vegetarian then, so what the fuck did I know. Honestly, I just lived to find a way to ride the canyons on my motorcycle at every possible opportunity. Good times. Sucks how that flatbed flattened that bike. And my cranium. But it paid well, I guess...

I told you brother they are the gospel. Idk what their political leanings or backgrounds or whatever are. I don't care they make great American rock and roll they are just some dudes from Maryland and that's all I wanna know lol.

Listening more, honestly they do sound pretty fucking based.

I have no idea which song I'm hearing now, but I'm getting my revolution on.

He has that 'grunge' vocalist styling, which was never my thing... and that does not matter at all. Not in a bad way. Honestly, damn. Okay, these beers went straight to where they were meant to go: MY BLADDER! But also my brain feels free again!

Thanks for providing a worthy soundtrack. I was unfair with that "grunge" comparison earlier. Now I feel more of a Blood Sweat and Tears or maybe Four Dog Night thing going here. Badass. I AM PRO-CLUTCH!

Shit, now I am banned in places, probably. Oh well.

Not knowing is GREAT! I DON'T WANT TO KNOW!

Of course, if they're "super based", that would be cool, but then their commie customers would stop sending in their dosh. Whatever.

Performers need to PERFORM, and otherwise STFU!!

That said, the artists I got to work with usually taught me something I did not previously know. Sometimes ones who are wholeheartedly the enemy now, but learning is learning. And even the enemy has the capacity to THINK, I think. I wish I had not lost track of many of them, but when I switched careers, I cut all ties to the previous one like a cultist.

Is that not life, though? I feel like Al Bundy waxing lyrical over his high school sportball victories.

Except for how I got to team up with my wife, who did the same things when we met, to earn us a bit more dosh doing more of the same at her much more legendary bar.

She hardly ever charged me for beers. That is apparently the value of my soul. But again, I digress.
