just fyi a baton torch in australia is classed as a 'lead filled pipe' and they arent cheap either.
try pulling the handle of a shopping cart. they hurt just as much as an asp baton and you can wipe it down and throw it in the nearest creek when youre done...
by the way im not discouraging your use of a large torch as a defensive weapon. many a security guards life has been saved by that shit, you just gotta be careful not to cave skulls in unless youre deaing with a 7ft escaped convict nigger on a meth bender.
lets say a guard who had a baton got a bit pissed off and cracked someone in the head. well theres a certain conversation that would be had that would go something like this -
"So mr trucks i put it to you that given your training with the baton you should have known not to swing at mr daddy in the head" "Well i aimed for between the shoulder and elbow as per my training and very sadly your honour before i could forthwith adjust my aim he ducked and i lamped the motherfucker upside the thick shit this cunt calls a head. fucker bent my baton too" "So can you now explain the several other blows when he was on the ground?" "Uhhhh....... im.... transgender and it was that time of the month? and i feel like youre not respecting my gender" "CASE DISMISSED!"
I appreciate the joke as a commentary on times we live in, but youve obviously never had to put the beat down on someone and then justify it to inquisitors.
So can you now explain the several other blows when he was on the ground?"
Subject refused verbal redirection and continued comabative behavior despite methods of restraint and defense of myself and others. I deployed the least lethal method of defense as required by the situation. I had to hit him 25 times because 24 wasnt enough and 26 would have been too much, your Honor.

Depending on th judge, 60% of the time, it works every time.
He wasn't talking about a large flashlight. He was talking about one of these.
Hell, carry a small one on your person and a big one in your vehicle. You can't have too many flashlights.
>You can't have too many flashlights.
So true!
