Servers already know this, and they're already happy to be serving you anyway.
I learned pretty quick during my short stint as a server . White customers are easy - smile, exchange a few pleasantries, make sure their drinks are refilled and maybe bring an extra side of ranch or whatever every now and then. If you or the kitchen get something wrong it's usually NBD.
Black customers are difficult from the start. No 'hello', just "Ya got ice tea?". Then they'll run you around with every little thing that's 'wrong' with an order. It's expected that they won't tip you, you're just hoping they don't want anything comped or want to speak to your manager.
Tables of single Mexican men were also not a favorite. Just flirty and gross.
