I started thinking about what historians 100 years from now would conclude from some of the terminology journalists use. I was living in Colorado for awhile, and when it was time for the local university to play football against the university in Wyoming the headlines would always shout "Border State War this Weekend". Really? We're going to war?
Or when there is a party line vote in congress, if the senate does get enough votes from the opposition party they will use "the nuclear option". Really? They're going to use nuclear weapons inside the congress building?
I still can't believe they refer to a congressman or senator as a house minority whip.
I think they are supposed to lash their party members into the chamber when it's time for a vote.
When i was in Saudi Arabia, when it was prayer time all the shops closed and everyone was supposed go to the mosque. Their were guys in brown/gold robes with 5-6 foot sticks would walk behind the crowd and hit them with their switches if they weren't going fast enough.
Ha. I never thought about that before.
