I haven't seen a pop-up in years. Most modern web browsers block them. And if you use an ad blocker extension - like AdGuard or uBlock Origin - you definitely won't see pop-ups.

a friend set something up and plenty of websites seem to do fine without obnoxiously hijacking my limited screenspace. Popups, in the context I intended should include moving banners, exceeding a reaaonable percentage of screenspace for ads, redirects
Plenty of webpages to look at on the internet without that sorta thing, so linking to the ones that do is unnecessary.
