I'm sure some did, but I honestly doubt that most wanted a worse future for their kids. It seems to me more that boomers in general just couldn't process how rapidly the world had changed and the different challenges their kids would be facing trying to get established. Even though the warnings were plain as day; just like the warnings are plain as day for the consequences of tolerating election fraud and the establishment of a medical police state.
Naw.
They have jealousy over their kids.
I suppose my direct, personal experience has been mixed. My parents would be considered late boomers, and they spent their whole life trying to build material wealth they are now handing off to me and my children. My mom named the jew for as long as I can remember though so they were outliers.
My wife's parents are the same age but are frittering away their not-inconsiderable inheritance and personally built wealth on the quintessential boomer retirement activities. They don't get to see my kids as my MIL is an openly Marxist psychologist who specialized in early childhood "re-education".
Holy shit the damage boomer psychologists specializing in ADHD did.
