That hasn’t really been my experience. Boomers have mostly been just clueless, rather than malicious.
"you kids have it too easy, when I was your age..."
"Buffet isn't giving his kids inheritance, why should I give any to you?"
"Help on a loan to buy a house? Why not just do some waitering for a summer to save up for the down payment?"
Maybe you had the exception to the rule.
I never really heard anything like that. Those are memes. I’m sure somebody had to actually say it, but it’s not the entire generation because I’ve talked to plenty of Boomers who are working and saving for an inheritance, and who’ve helped their kids buy a house etc.
Exceptions to the rule.
Sounds like your mad at your parents.
Mine pushed to loan me money. Said "why pay interest to a bank when you can keep it in the family". Same with extended family and their kids.
I'm glad you had good parents.
They are the exception in the boomer generation.
