Whats powering the generator?
Natural gas
How do you like it? Is it noisy? Thinking of getting a Generac.
It's a Generac Protector QS
Was going to get one too but it turned out to be 11K installed and 300 a year for maintenance. Pretty expensive for 1 to 2 times a year (I get ice storms and tornadoes). I went with a portable one, a little more effort to switch to, but was only 850. I have a gas furnace so I can power the fan and have heat. During the summer I can use fans or if it's really hot get a small window AC and survive for a week or two. I can run my frig and microwave so I'm good.
The noise is pretty well contained but there's that constant hum always going through the house when it's running.
But hey, when you're in a situation where you need it, It is worth its weight in gold and you couldn't give a fuck less about how loud it is. You'd be warm.
