I'm a Christian and I don't believe that. Acts 17:26 says that we all came from one man, but that we have a place and time assigned by God. That doesn't sound like "all the same" to me.

Many don't read the book. They listen to a church led by a black pope, or from seminarians that were taught from the Scofield study bible.
It hasn't always been that way, and I predict it won't always be that way. What you describe is a fairly new phenomenon. We simply have the bad luck of living in that time.
