I've owned cats throughout my whole life. They are great but they all act essentially exactly the same. They are boring except for when they are kittens. Some cats will follow you around but they have no real personality. They're cute little creatures to have curl up on your lap when they feel like it. Dogs are 100x the companion of a cat. More work though.
I dunno dude. Sounds to me like you never earned a cat's trust. Cats have a lot of personality. But they are independent so, they aren't going to show you any personality if they don't care about you. All you are to them is the guy who opens the door for them and that's the way they treat you. You aren't a friend. You are the help. That's sad.
Dude. Cats are cats, they are all essentially the same. It doesn't make them bad nor do I think they are bad, I love cats.
I'm not accusing you of being a cat hater. You just don't know cats very well if you think they are all the same. They all just treat YOU the same because you are below them.
