A couple days ago i saw a tesla here in my area. This is really a strange event. When i drive to the coast all i see is teslas. Never one out here. No dealerships or charging stations anywhere near. It was very out of place. I felt it was a sign of the apocalypse. Like seeing some shitskin in a burkha walking down my white rural country road. It was unsettling.

2 years ago they were rare here even in a richer suburb. Now I see them constantly. They are all over the place. And with all the hit pieces of them they do actually seem way better than other cars. They are so far ahead on everything. I like to do road trips though and don't want to have to worry about charging.

Way better than normal cars for city driving? Possible. Out here? Useless.

I think they were lost.

I more meant the technology is head and shoulders above everything else but yeah, outside city driving or going 2 hours to visit family etc it's not going to do much good. If I had the money and choice I would get a Tesla for around town and a full size truck for everything else.

The Gov goes after Tesla, color me surprised.

It's my understanding that the bug could cause the touchscreen to fail in as little as five years. Without the touchscreen you can no longer control the climate system. Replacing the touchscreen is $1400. Anyone who's worked with flash memory on an embedded systems knows about problems with writing to much to flash memory. The first project I ever did with flash memory had me stupidly burn out a memory chip in a few seconds from several bugs in the code. Back in the day those chips were expensive, and I never made that mistake again. A $90k car shouldn't have features become inoperable in less than a decade from such a simple engineering over site.

They sure do hate Elon Musk. Must be his stance on vaccines, big tech and all that stuff anyone awake has to reject.
