Well, I don't either but it's a belief in various religions. Ancient Egyptian religion had the magical energy force known as "Heka." Chinese have "Chi" or "Qi." Hindus have "Kundalini". Kabbalah incorporates a similar concept of a magical force.

So the question is whether they go through some form of real-world experience that makes them think they have control over some illusive mystic power, or it's all just delusion?
