The problem is finding a place to store the leftover brine. That shit will kill anything, so dumping back in the ocean is a really bad idea.

The brine can be put back but at a constant to a varied area so have like a conveyor belt that dumps at various distances. Also have it premixed with regular saltwater "just slightly saltier than normal seawater" so it's not as concentrated as straight salt and if done as fast as it builds up and find a current so it'll be dragged off where you build the conveyor or pipe line.

Also can have Morton or other salt retailer or northern state take the salt for free. Just have to clean the other stuff like plankton out of it or not.

Yeah. Good luck getting the company in charge of that to not simply bribe the inspectors and just dump the lot of it into the sea.

Bribery, that is so US government for the past 200 years so that'll never not be happening.

Hmmm, great salt flats is a real idea since it's already fucked.

"but they do the land speed records there" "fuck that shit I don't give 2 fucks since no family car can go over 70 legally, so what difference does it make besides tv shows and someones ego"

why not just turn the brine into salt? pour the brine into reservoirs, let the sun finish the process, then scrape the salt crystals out?

Sell it as exfoliating hand wash.
