ThIs is the same thing Detroit was doing. Selling homes for $2K, $5K, $10K with the caveat that they had to be rehabbed and owner occupied.

If this house was closer to NYC, it would be snapped up immediately. Syracuse sucks, though. You’d be much better off in the sticks of NJ or PA.

Buying a house like that because it has “good bones” or whatever line of shit realtors are feeding people these days….I’d much rather have a smaller, boomer era 3BR that is 50 years newer. You’d have to be a guy already in the trades to really be enthused about the amount of work an old shitdump like this needs.
