Neat project. Most of the parts are 3d printed too so it should be fairly easy to replicate. /s/3dprinting

From the post: Not every robot has to be big. Sometimes, you can build something fun that’s better sized for exploring your tabletop rather than the wastelands of Mars. To that end, [philosiraptor] built the diminutive PITANK rover. As you might guess from the name, the rover is based on the Raspberry Pi Zero 2. It uses the GPIO pins to output PWM signals, commanding a pair of servos that drive the tracks on either side of the ‘bot. The drivetrain and chassis are made from 3D-printed components. Controlling the robot is handled via a web interface, which [philosiraptor] coded in C# to be as responsive as possible. So you can see where you’re driving, the ‘bot is also kitted out with a camera to provide a live video feed.

Cool for a kid, but I’m pretty sure I don’t need a robot to “explore my tabletop”

Fuck minding room table sits 10, I can see it all. I can assess it daily. I don’t need lidar, cameras, rovers, sat mapping. It’s a fucking table not the back 40 acres.

If you however need a rover to explore your tabletop, I’d say you need an intervention from the fucking hoarder people.

Small projects become big projects over time.

Did you wake up today and chose violence? You seem to be on a kick.

Violence? I was in a great mood all day! What did I say to be on edge?

Outside of hating docker as I think lots of security holes are baked into the dockers that most use and no one audits it, so it’s a huge risk imo.

Just saying, a lot of the responses I saw today were a bit more rough than usual. Nothing wrong with that, we all vent.
